What Is Working Now When Using Football As A Tool For Reconcilation?

As I get ready for the conference and fly over to Austria on Thursday morning, I thought I'd share my thoughts around the five questions that will be asked at the conference.

As well the presentation slide and the media attention the work (FIC) Football Between Communities has been attracting,.

Thanks to Adam Taha, we got the video edited and up and running. I've also got the press clippings and other tools to do the talking for me. Thank you Adam!

It pays to have a mentor with a lot of skills to tap into. Beats surfing the Internet for hours on end to find out the 'how to.'

I answer five questions in this video, for organisations, football coaches and funders, who are using football to help to bring people togethe and to educate:
  • Is sport the missing link for inclusion, in bring people together and they feel part of their own community?

  • Can sport, Football in particular act as a tool for reconciliation and peace making?

  • What else is needed in addition to provide appropriate infrasture?

  • What's the limitations in using football to educate, empower, inspire and unite people together?

  • What's working now?
The Presentation On Using Football To Educate
I took Adam Taha's advise and not have the presentation I'll be doing on Thursday with lots of words.

The best way of speaking about your work is to let people do the talking for you. Here's how:

When I come back from the conference then the next step is taking the next step which I've discussed with Adam Taha.

I'll be working towards buying a domain name, creating our own customised blog/website and raise the bar. There's a lot of work to do an Adam Taha has really opened my eyes even more.

I'm glad I took the opportunity to get as much time from him because he's already mentioned that his time is limited and will only focus on the people who take their dreams seriously.

We also talked about creating a Facebook fan page and I've already got Adam the administration level for our facebook fan page. That way I can hire his services to create the fan page and he's got full access to add the code for our design.

What I've seen so far is just amazing. I didn't know you can do all the customisation he showed me. Everything is coming together very fast due to mentorship and focus.

I'll update what happened at Austria conference when I'm back.
